Sweet Dreams Bed and Breakfast was built in 1902 by Bernard Youngman. The original house at the rear of the home was built in 1865 and is used as the Innkeepers quarters.
The Youngmans' owned and operated a drainage tile factory formerly located at the back of the property. The Youngman's daughter Bernice married Pete Meyer and they lived in the house until the family sold the home.
After the Youngman/Meyer years the house was sold to the Kaufmans. Jean Kaufman, a renowned artist, fell in love with the house and bought the property setting up her studio in the original structure. The Kaufmans lived in the home for over 20 years and sold it to the present owners after her death.
The house is now under the ownership of the third family.
The Smitleys’ dedication to the house shines through in all corners of the home. From its individualized room decorations to the beautiful front and back yards to the delicious meals.
They pride themselves on taking excellent care of their guests and making them feel at home from the first moment they step into the house.
